Nancy Drew Message in a Haunted Mansion
This is my favorite Nancy Drew mystery. It has the best interiors, and a consistent
building up of clues based upon the Chinese characters. The standard design of the Nancy
Drew games involves finding you way around confusingly similar looking hallways, up
and down floors, crawling through secret places, and picking up hidden clues –all of
which I couldn't see being ported to the Game Boy Advance. I must admit they did it
pretty well. The navigation is almost preset, the screens zoom into where important things
are, and labels remind you of where you are and exactly what you are looking at.
However the small screen just can't do justice to the beautifully rendered interiors. Also,
the darkness of the Game Boy Advance screen place a burden on the player that the PC
player does not have. It's a good attempt – but play the PC version if you want to explore
a beautiful building and take you time to hunt for clues. (See original review in PC
section)
