Big Bang Mini - Review

Big Bang Mini
Ages: Everyone

I have been waiting for the game to come out ever since the previews promised a fireworks shooter. Sounded pretty but the concept eluded me. No more. That is exactly what it is. You destroy flying "enemies" by flicking your stylus and aiming for enemies flying on your tops screen. As the manual says, "like you would strike a match". This results in colorful fireworks. When you make hits - stars will fall which you collect to score. If you miss - you still get a magnificent explosions but the debris comes raining down upon you and if you get hit - it's game over - begin the level again.

The settings, different cities for each level, provide variety and the cities speeding by, as from a view from a train, provide the backdrop for the game. Difficulty increases as the game advances with enemies gratuitously dropping missiles and life destroying beams while you gain some advantages with homing missiles and new techniques. I would love a cheat to be able to advance to all the cities - meanwhile I am playing for the fun of making fireworks.
