Fairy Godmother Tycoon - Review

Fairy Godmother Tycoon
Ages: Everyone

"Casual games" is not a good enough name for these simple little diversions – Entertainments or Amusements would be a better description. They are short, easy, amusing, they are very often humorous, and the topics are usually women-oriented. The premise of starting and growing a successful business has been used as a base for a number of games such as Cake Mania and Diner Dash. It is the trappings that give character to the game and make it fun to play. Fairy Godmother Tycoon is mostly concerned with creating a successful business rather than the magic of fairies, and you are given plenty of helpful suggestions in how to do this. Most important, is to check the "weather" which predicts the next day's ailments and curses that will be visited on the townspeople. This way you will know how much and which potions to make, whether you can raise your prices and to decide if you need to spend advertising dollars.

Getting the best price on supplies for the potions is important, upgrading your store to increase customers satisfaction, advertising, or better still, hiring goons to persuade people to frequent your store. If you pay goons more they will discourage people from going to your competitors. So it's mostly Business 101 on how to build a successful business. It's the humor and the clever situations that make the game fun. Maybe they can do one on how to get out of credit debt. Break Free from Usurers.

Electronic Arts runs the Pogo.com casual game website where you can play games for free, try them or buy them. There you can try out Fairy Godmother Tycoon, Diner Dash and others too numerous to mention.
