Scooby-Doo Jinx at the Sphinx - Box

Scooby-Doo Jinx at the Sphinx
Ages 5 - 10

Once again the team is engaged in solving a mystery in a spooky place. In this case the search for a missing Egyptologist has our crew exploring an Egyptian bazaar, the Sphinx, and a Pyramid, complete with sarcophagi and raving mummy. I must admit an affinity for the Velma character, the zoftig, smart member of the crew with glasses who is a welcomed counterpart to always hungry, stupid Shaggy. Yea - more smart girls!

To acquire enough clues to solve the mystery, people must be interviewed and puzzles must be solved. After all the clues are collected, the player makes the final guess as to who is the culprit. Seems I always guess wrong, but if you do - you can play it over. The culprit, of course will be different.

The navigation is simple enough for young children, and older kids will pick up on the Clintonesque tourist and other jokes. But this game is really for Scooby fans who will overlook the simplistic graphics and minimal animation. Too much talk (you can use the Esc key to stop it) and excessive travel back and forth slow down the game.
